Each love story is different, but the story of Beauty and the Beast is one that’s a little bit different from most love stories. It teaches the important lesson of looking beyond someone’s outward appearance and loving what’s underneath – the heart. We hope you draw some inspiration from this sample wedding ceremony script.
Setting The Stage
A grand ballroom decorated with golds, deep reds, and touches of enchanted forest greenery. Soft candlelight and a live orchestra create a magical atmosphere.
The Ceremony
Officiant: “We gather here today to witness the union of [Groom’s Name] and [Bride’s Name], a love story as enchanting as any tale. Like the Beast, [Groom’s Name] has found beauty within, and in [Bride’s Name], he has found true love. And here I found a poem that talks about this love.
Inner Beauty
Not shallow lust, but love’s true art,
A soul with feeling, a tender heart.
Beyond the face, a spirit seems,
The truest love of fairest dreams.
– Bernard Paul
Vows and Ring Exchange
[Groom and Bride] exchange vows using the themes of beauty, transformation, and unconditional love.
- Groom: “Like the Beast, I was once lost in a world of my own making. But your love has shown me the true meaning of beauty, both within and without. I promise to always cherish you. Take this ring as a symbol of my promise to love you forever”
- Bride: “Your heart is a treasure more precious than any jewel. I promise to love you with all of my heart, through every season of our lives. This ring here is a symbol of that promise. Every time you look at it remember our vows to each other.”
Pronouncement
“May your love story be as timeless as the tale we celebrate today. May your days be filled with joy, your hearts with love, and your home with happiness. And now, by the power vested in me by American Marriage Ministries I present to you for the first time Mr. and Mrs. [Bride and Groom]. “
